My last assigment

        Hello!, today I'm writing my last assigment at this English class, and this is the last time that I'm going to write a "new post" in it too. It's a very good feeling knowing that we are finishing this second term of the year, but it is sad too because sometimes this means a goodbye and a farewell.

        I like a lot this subject this semester, because it was very fun to make the blog all the weeks and see my classmates in this moment of the day . It's very different when we have to take English in another Faculty  due to we have deadline timetable with other classes and subjects ( this was my case at the first term of 2012, when I took English in FAU)  , because we are with people that we don't know, so, it was very nice to me to take this subject with my friend Marjorie and with the people from Faculty. Besides, the teacher was very nice with us, very understanding with our lack of knowledge of English, our grammatical mistakes, etc. About the use of blog, it's an activity that I like it very much, because it's a good way to practice English, writing and reading. Furthermore, it's a fun activy to write about our experiencies. 

        In adition to this, I think that I have to improve my English a lot, because I have problems with my accent (my spoken English) and with the lack of necessary vocabulary. I'm good at reading English papers and text, and to get along with the meaning of it. I think that, for me, this is a good technique to improve my English, because it enriched my vocabulary, so, I will try to maintain this activity ( and I have to, because at some subjects, I have the obligation of doing this because a lot of papers about some topics are in English). 

        On these days, I'm using my English a lot, because like I said, I'm in the obligation to read a lot of papers in English. I got a thousand of papers in English this year about different topics of psychology, so, I use a lot of my poor skills of English in it.

My future job

Hello! Today I will talk about my future Job.

At University, during this year and the second semester of 2012, I'm tried to take all the subjects that are related to childhood and adolescence psychology, because this is the area of psychology that I will choose like my major or specialization. I like this topic because I think that is a beautiful matter, childhood are the base of society, so It's a very important thing,  we have to take part in it. I would like to have a job that has outstanding part in the therapeutic intervention with childhood. Specifically, I would like to job with child sexual abuse, in the intervention and treatment of this painfull experience. It's a relevant area of study, and the public systems needs a lot of  experts in this topic. When I will have to choose my job in a close future, I think that the work climate, it will be an importat thing to consider, because the human relations are very important to me, so, it's important a good laboral atmosphere to make the job more pleasant, kind and efficient. If in a future, I were asked in a job interview about my strengths and weakness, I would say that my weaknesses are related to sometimes lack of initiative ( sometimes, only when I don't know well the kind of job that I have to do) and that I'm very good to claim when something doesn't seem good for me ( like unfair situations). Like strengths, I would mention that I'm very devoted (When I love something) and that I have good interpersonal relations.

Money!!!!

Hello! This is an old entry, but I will do it anyway. So, I will talk about the evil money.

 

The money, unfortunately, is useful in our lifes, but, at the same time, I think that the money sometimes make that the persons turn bad. The money is the reason why some group of people want to have all the economic and invest power, and let the other big group of people, in poverty and sadness (so, in this case, the money is a bad thing). I need the money to be able to survive. If the money doesn't be so important in our times and society, maybe we would had another way of make our lifes withouy this thing.

I usually spend my money in the necessary things to survive like food, health, rent, and thing related with the university like photocopies. I spend some money on clothes and go to movies (one of my favorite activities ) , but I'm not a spendthrift person ( I think). However, I have some problems sometimes to can be able to managing my budget, because I have to pay attention to a lot of expenses like taxes, for example. If I were millionaire, I woul invest my money in a lot of travels. If I had to pawn some of my belongings, I don't know what I would pawn, because I don't have important economic things.

Election day

      Hello! Today I will write about elections, politicians and vote. I think that vote is an important thing as a citizen of a country, because we exert our rights like persons of a nation, and we can make the difference through voting, making the change. I registered to vote, since I was 18 years old ( I register to vote one week after I turned 18 years old). I registered because It's a very important thing for a country, that their citizens have the right to vote, because we have to get involved in the political and social situation of our country. On the other hand, I think that electoral campaings are digusting, because the politicians make a lot of promises that they will not perform and carry out. They promise things like high quality health, good education, good social politics, etc.  In adition to this, they fill the streets with political advertising, spending a lot of money in this election propanga that pollute and contamine the city, and that don't have an important message, because they show their faces, but no their political programs. I think that the quality that a person who wants to run for a public positions should have is, first of all, the honesty and sincerity. This person, has to be close to the people of their city and community, being always in touch with their citizens. I never considered becoming a politician, because I don't like it and I think that it is a stressfull job too, full of bad moments. Like a constructive criticism to the electoral caimpaings in my district, I will say to the candidates that they have to be honest with the people, because the people put their trust in the politicians to direct their lives, in a certain way, so they have a very important work.

About educational psychologists at "The Guardian"

        The article that I selected is related to my area of studies and future career: Childhood and adolescence Psychology. This article from "The Guardian", is about the work of educational psychologists and the funds reduction, from the UK Minister for children , for the training of new professionals in this area of Psychology. According to this article , an educational psychologist is an expert on child development, and with the topics related to this specialization such as cognitive, emocional and social development, and the most important thing : their work with children that has special educational needs, and children with autism, cerebral palsy, depression, mental deficiency, etc. The problem in UK, is that almost a quarter of children population has special needs, and there is a deficit of professionals from this area. Besides, and this is the most important thing of this articicle, is that the government wants to reduce the national budget to prepare professionals in educational psychology. A few of psychology organizations, think that the government doesn't understand the important role that has a psychologist at this area, and maybe this is one of the possible reasons that can be related with this reduction of the national funds. The same thing happens in Chile educational systems and public politics, where the role that plays a educational psychologist is not recognized in an important place. It`s sad, but I hope that this situation changes with time .

My best Friend in the world

        Hi! Today I will talk about my best friend. I think that friendship is a very important thing in the life of a person, because this is what makes us happy and knowing that we can trust in someone is a beautiful feeling. I think that I have a couple of good friends, but my best friends are my boyfriend Christian and my friend Paloma, however I will talk about my dear Paloma. I met her when I was 5 years old ( she is 2 years older than me), at her birthday party, because her aunt is my uncle's wife, and my uncle took me to this birthday party and met her, so sometimes we tell that we are cousins hahaha. We have been friends during 18 year ... It's a very long time!!. She is my best friend because we have a lot of subjects in common, we laugh a lot when we are together and we can talk about important things too. She is studying veterinary medicine.  The best memomy that I have with my friend is when we camped ( thing that we used to do every summer ) when we were about 10 years old, it  was very fun, because we laughed a lot hahaha ( we always do the same thing haha) . I really love my best friend Paloma.

My best Holidays

     Hi! this friday I will talk about my best holidays. I have very good memories about my holidays, specially when I was a little girl. I used to go on vacations with all my cousins to camp with my aunt Rosita and uncle Manuel to the "mountains" and It was very fun, because it was always an adventure for us, like If we were explorers in the jungle hahaha. We spend there almost a week, and we stay in tents, It was very nice wake up at mornings with the pleasant wind of the place. I think that my best holidays were this summer, because I went to "La rufina" , a place in the middle of the mountains, near to San Fernando and It's a beautiful place, I really love it. I were there with my best friend Paloma, my friend Ignacio and my cousin Patricio, and we stayed in a cabin for five days. In this place, we spend the nights around a bonfire talking about our lifes and laughing, and at day, we went for long walks near the river. This holidays were very fun because I was happy with my friends, in a beautiful place close to the nature.

This is " La Rufina" 

A country I would like to visit

      Hello! Today I will talk about a contry I would like to visit, I hope that this happen very soon. I only know parts of Chile, so It's one of my wishes to know another parts of the world. I would like to visit China, India, Iceland and Russia, but at this moment of my life, my whishes are focused in England. I would like to visit this country because It's a place with beautiful architecture, good people and a very different and rich culture. I have some knowledge about this country, basically related to music and culture, like some things about its buldings like the Big Ben, royal family and information about music because this is the country of one of my favorite bands in the world: The beatles. If I have the possibility to travel to England, I would like to visit all the country, but mostly, the city of Liverpool, because this is the city where the members of The beatles were born. In Liverpool, I would like to visit places related to the history of my favorite band, such as "The cavern club", where they gave their first presentations, Abbey Road ( the place of one of the most mitically pictures in the history of music) and Saville Road, the place where they played the famous " Roof top concert". Furthermore, it's one of my plans in the future, to be able to go and study some degree related to children and adolescents psychology.

My first term of 2012

       

         Hello!! today I will talk about my firs term of this year. My first term of the 2012, was an interesenting time, because I was taking an active part in a lot of things. In first place, I took subjetcs that need a lot of practice rather than a theoretical learning, that was the method of the previous semesters. I learned a lot of thing about childhood and adolescence, that is the subject that it will be my specialization in a short time . In addition to, I was participating in two assistantship , one of Clinical Psychology and the second was Neurophysiology, in wich I learned a lot of things, but it was a lot of work too. In my free times, I was participating in a theater class, where at the final of the semester, we represented a play. On the other hand, the challenges and problems that I had to face during the semester, were mainly related to organize my time, and be able to do all the things I had to. Besides, during june and july, I was working at Censo 2012, and it was very fun, but it was a job which requires a lot of time as well, so it was very tiring. However, I always had the time to share with my family and boyfriend, so it was a very good first term of 2012 for me.

SECOND SEMESTER

Practice with patients

I'm at 4th yeart of Psychology, and the next year I will have to do my professional practice. I will be Child and Adolescent psychologist. This semester I have a signature when I have to work in a pre-practice with a little girl, from a kindergarten of Ñuñoa. Her name is Gabriela, and she has 3 years old  (is a baby!!) . The work has been beautiful, but very difficult because she has little problems with languaje and pronuntiation of some letters, so sometimes, It has been very difficult understand us ( Its normal for her age, because she still are in languaje learning process). My wortk basically consist in do a psycodiagnosis because she show disrruptive behaviours and social isolation. I have been work with her since april, and this month, the process ends. The final diagnosis has relation with symptoms related to a Pervasive Developmental Disorder, because she was a little problems with her social development, but this are symtoms that has to be evaluated more deeply by a psychiatrist. This is my first "patient" in my life like a psychology student and future psychologist, so it has been an interesting experience, but full of insecurities as well, because its a big responsibility. ( She always talks about her favorite movie " Toy Story" ... in her english:  "tory tory" )

Maybe and The rain song, my favorites

The last week, at my oral presentation, I talked about The Beatles and that my favorite song was "Hey Jude". This is my favorite song, not only about Beatles, but about all the songs that exist in the worl hahaha. Talking seriously, I had a group of songs that I like it very much, and no, they aren't Beatles songs. I often listen music from 60's and 70's because I like the style of that time, the instruments played are a little different (or maybe the use that musicians do of they), the lyrics was related with another subjects ...  in short, this two decades was a period full of magic, creativity and hope. One of my other favorites song, is Maybe by Janis Joplin. I heard it for the first time when I was 17, and for that time, I was interested in all the "hippie" music, so It was a interesting musical time in my life. I really love Janis voice, because its full of power and softness at the same time, and specially this song ( I love the lyrics too) . Sometimes its very difficult to choose one favorite song, so I think I had a couple more to share with you. Last year, I was a little obsessed with Led Zeppelin, a english band,  and their song " The rain song", that is a love balad and I really love the lyrics ( a long time that I don't listen this song!!) . I heard this song for the very first time at december 2010, but I knew Led zeppelin from before, but not all their songs . Think in this two artist, Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin, prove that I really love the blues!!

A beautiful friend

Today I will write about my best friend called Paloma. Paloma is a 24 years old girl, that live at San Fernando in summers, but the most part of the year she spent her time in Temuco, because she study medicine veterinary at Catholic University of Temuco , so we meet and spent time toghether mostly at winter and summer vacations. She is a very nice girl, very understanding, sincere, she's a really fun girl and we laught a lot, talk about anything, we like to see movies, and I always spent my summer with her in some improvised trip. We are been friends for a long time. We meet when I was 4 years old, and she has 6, in a birthday party, because our families are friends and very closely, so since that day, she pass to conform a important part of my life. We have in common a lot of things, like some values, political ideas, the same sence of humor, shared some particularly things like the taste for purple color ( and thats the reason because the color of this publication is purple hahaha)  . Also, I have a very good relationship with her family, because they know my mother before I was born and then when I was a baby.We keep in contatc by facebook, email and phone, but we are always in touch and knowing things about the other's life.  We shared a very beautiful friendship, because we are friends since we were a little girls, so we have a very long time toghether. I think that we will be friends for ever.     

                                  

A website called "Pijama Surf"

Its necessary to say that I use Facebook , Twitte and Gmail every day. I use Facebook for keep in touch with my friends, Twitter for read news and know what its happens in the world and gmail for read my emails. Its true that " I lost" a big time of my life on this sites but also read a page name " Pijama surf " that its very special. ¿ Why this page its different to the other ones?. Because this site its more "scientific"and shown particulary information. The information that this page talks about its a very less comun information like: conspiracies, landscape photographs, aliens, geology, interesting information, ecology, etc. This page characterized for entries like " Risking life to photograph the most active volcano in the world", "Curious photography captured through fish eyes" , "Incredibly criature its half mollusk, half discotheque", etc. In this site, there is a section called "Natura" and its my favorite because shown articles related with nature, information about curious animals, different places and a very nice group of pictures. So, sometimes I prefered visit this site that sitting to watch Tv.

A Photograph

This photograph was taken by my best friend
Paloma over 5 years ago when I was 17 years old, at january 2008.   I think its  one of my favorites because we had a wonderful moment when that picture was taken and also, she is my best friend. Paloma took this photo at our vacations, one morning when we just wake up and leave our tent. Also, was the first time we go out to camp alone, without a grown-up to take care of us and with a group of friends, so it was a important moment for us. In the picture we look sad , but its was just a game because we were playing to put different faces and results this photo ... we make fun of our funny faces a long time . Obviously, what I like the most from this picture its our faces, because they are funny . We still taken this class of pictures, and laugh heartily every time we remember old times and old funny pictures too.

Animals are beautiful!!!

Talk about anything is more difficult than writing about a subject which we dont know. But I think this time I will write about " Animal abuse" . 

Some scientific disciplines postulate that animals are inferior to humans ( infrahumans). These disciplines are defended with arguments like ; animals do not think  ,animales dont have conscience, animals don´t have language, have no emotions, etc. While these ideas have some truth, is not exactly that way.  Animals have some sort of conciense , if they weren´t haven´t, their lifes can´t have any good results, because conciense its necessary for act in this world. We're not talking about abstract reasoning or thinking, we are only talking about consciousness as being "awake" in the world and to plan actions on our environment. Animals have the ability to plan their actions. 

With respect to language, although animals do not possess the symbolic and abstract language that human use, they have communication mechanism, which would be the ultimate goal of language. 

Arguments like these are used by certain groups of people to harm other living beings and experiment with them, their products. 

I think that animales have the same right to live in this world, because we are living beings, and don´t exist much difference between ourselves. I think the big difference is that we have positioned ourselves as the base of the pyramid of life, we chose this position without asking anyone, which is a bit self-referential. Animals are beautiful , there are so many tips!. A Journey

This was a very short trip, but not for that reason less important. At summer of this year, my best friend Paloma, my friend Ignacio, my cousin Patricio and I ,  went to "La rufina",  a beautiful place emplacement near to the chilean mountain at VI region. We travel in a light truck ... ¡But the truck stopped at the middle of the road! and there we stayed for a couple of hours waiting for fix.
We stay in a cabin for a week, at the middle of mountains, nature and natives animals from the area that make this  a beautiful place with a very crystalline rivers. For me and my friends, one of the most astounding things of this place was the big and dark night sky that allows you to see all the stars and If we had luck , a lot of shooting stars.I went there some years before when I was a little girl, and now , fourteen years later, It was interesting try to remember how was the place and see how is at this moment. We drove to a near place that the local people calls "Bailahuen". In that place we camping for two days and it was fun, because at night we join around a bonfire and talked about so many things ... it was a interesting moment for meet a little more to my friends.The first night that we stayed at "La rufina" , my friend Paloma and I was a little frightened, because there were some local rumors about a kind of leyend that says that one day, a man called " Gutierrez" got lost at that place and he never was found. My cousin Patricio was dedicated all that nights to scare us.

At the return trip we spend like a 4 hours. We were very happy for have been there.

A Country I'd Like to Visit

One of my wishes is to be able to visit a lot of beautiful countries around the world. I never had the chance to travel out Chile, and I would like travel by plane. In this moment of my life, is my dream visit England. Although its a interesting place to go and visit, because its history, buildings, traditions , prince William and royal family, Stonehenge, red busses, Big ben etc, my principal motivation has relation to knowing the land of my favorite band: " The Beatles" . There are many things I would like to do like visit Liverpool really. At Liverpool, I would do "The Beatle route" and visit the places where John, Paul, George and Ringo gave their first steps , like "The cavern Club" in were they gave their first presentations , Saville Road (where they play the famous "roof top concert") and the places where they were born. But, the place I most like to visit is Abbey Road, the place of the most mitic picture in the world and of course , I would like to walk across the street where they passed and take a picture.
